What we don't check
A label scanner can only judge what's on the label and what certifiers publish. These are outside that.
- Processing aids that aren't ingredients, such as bone char used to filter some cane sugar. The cane sugar page mentions it.
- Cross-contact on shared production lines or equipment.
- Restaurants, butchers and shops. Use your certifier's own directory.
- Leather goods and other non-food items.
- Whether a product has changed since our data was collected. Every result shows its data source and date.
- Personal fatwas. The Zulal Standard is a cautious editorial standard, not a ruling for your specific situation.
